Why me?

Hey! up front now. let me confess. Should I? Do I have to? Well honesty is important, so here goes. I'm old. Not just past 30 and teetering on the upside of middle age; not smack dab in middle age; not even on the downside of middle age. I rounded that bend and climbed that notable hill a number of years ago. Okay. Now enough confession. Let me not bore you with further details (whew! did I adequately evade the issue?) On to more titillating data. In my very favorite blog, Antique Mommy, I learned that scientific evidence now indicates that blogging is beneficial to your health! Therefore, I, as of today, am self medicating!

To prevent wasting your time, let me establish up front what is important to me: God and Christianity, family, friends, animals and common courtesy. Kindness, patience, and a servant's attitude are traits that I have seen deteriorate, evaporate and disappear from most venues. However, there are pockets still detectable across this wonderfully diverse nation of ours and it is this group to which I gravitate.

It is my firm belief that we can change the world one good deed at a time. You don't have to give huge sums of money, prepare meals in soup kitchens or provide free manual labor to make a difference. It is my hope that each day we can find one way to make a difference to someone, no matter how small the effort. Smile when you would rather not, let someone in traffic even when you are in a hurry, give a child your undivided attention. There are many opportunities. Use them and see if you don't feel better!
